The Importance of Revamping your Image

We have multiple clients who walk through our doors looking for a revamp to their website. Whether they’re clients we’ve worked with in the past or new clients looking to freshen up their image, the fact of the matter is that as long as the web is changing and evolving, so should you.

People don’t necessarily take into consideration the work that goes into maintaining a website. However, as previously stated in an earlier article, the internet ages must faster than we do. Most websites have the lifespan of about 4-5 years and then it’s time to upgrade. In order to encompass everything that you need it’s sometimes helpful to think of it as an image overhaul, or a complete brand “revamp.” You don’t need to change what makes your company what it is, but rather just clean it up a bit so that it’s the best version that it can be.

Often we get clients asking for a revamped website once their company has achieved a certain level of success. Maybe they have partnered with another company or expanded, they want their website to reflect this. When you begin thinking about the revamp process, it’s important to understand what your end goal is. What do you want to accomplish? It’s helpful to draw up a strategy that incorporates everything that you deem most important. Perhaps much of your website is already working to your advantage and you are getting positive feedback, nevertheless, it never hurts to always be thinking of ways to improve user experience. Where there’s a will, there’s a way, and developers are coming up with new functions each day to further the user experience.

While it helps to consider the right design to draw readers in, it’s most important that when a person lands on your site, they are immediately given a call to action which will bring them further into the site and accomplish your brand’s end goal. This may mean taking a more active approach to social media if your goal is to gain more customers or better SEO tactics if you want to improve your Google ranking. Whatever the case may be, it’s important to analyze what is working on your site and what can be improved upon.

It’s always about improving. If that means upgrading your overall brand, then so be it. Look at billion dollar companies such as Pepsi or Apple. The logo and brand name that you identify with will always be there, but it’s constantly being tweaked and modernized. As we evolve, so do our tastes and what may have looked good in 1993 isn’t necessarily going to hold up in 2013. It’s important to be mindful of what’s happening around you and to take into consideration what your customers are after.  A revamped image can begin with a revamped website.
