Say for instance you posted a picture of your new restaurant. You could write a comment and hashtag words that pertain to it such as restaurant, Las Vegas, Italian, food, dining. The more you hashtag, the more followers you will gain. People often search different keywords in Instagram to find photos they are interested in. By hashtagging, you open your business up to more exposure.

Instagram also allows you to check in to different locations much like Facebook and Twitter. You can choose to say where you are in different photos. This allows you to get the name of your business out to a broader audience, and it enables you to post fun pictures of people within your company, to give followers an inside look.

Sometimes it helps to encourage users with an extra incentive as well. Those incentives can be discounts, coupons, or free gifts. Political websites often use such as incentives to get people to donate. Their call to action is to get users to donate money to their candidate, but in doing so said users also benefit from receiving free gifts. A win- win for all involved.

USE SPECIFIC LANGUAGE THAT STICKS IN THEIR HEADS-

Earlier we mentioned how the call to action words you choose need to play into a user’s emotions and what those words will in turn drive them to do. Use tight, precise language that quickly invokes the point you are trying to get across. If the call to action was for perhaps adopting pets from a shelter, you would want to emphasize certain words. Animals are abandoned, lonely, scared, and helpless; these are unsettling words that stick with you long after they have been read. Take for instance, the ASPCA commercial (that most everyone with a television has seen) they are calling out for viewers to help these struggling animals and give them a good home, and in doing so they use such words to emphasize the severity of these situations. The tone and word choice of your call to action is often what resonates most with users.

IMMEDIATELY VISIBLE

Also make sure that these important words are not lost amongst other text. The call to action should be immediately visible on each page of your website so that it pops out at users. Make sure the space around it is not cluttered with unnecessary wording, or graphics. The call to action should be simple and direct. Also make sure that this specific text is a larger font or a different color than what is listed on that page. Once again, you want your call to action to stand out.
