Personally, I’ve been playing with the beta for a little bit, and it’s been pretty non intrusive.  When I remember to do it, it’s nice to spread the word about sites and businesses I like.

From a Search Engine Optimization standpoint it doesn’t seem as though Google intends to make this a factor in organic rankings, as the system is somewhat easy to game.  Though it appears Google is taking steps to assure that the results are authentic.  However, dependent upon how Google starts displaying the results it could start to hog up some valuable real estate on the search results page.  Boiled down, this is Google’s answer to the Facebook “like” button.

Do we think it is important?  Absolutely, and you should probably contact us or your web designer to get it up on your site as soon as possible.  These types of things tend to benefit the early adopters if they catch on, and I would not dismiss this as Buzz 2.0.

Gerrard Cox Larsen is a law firm focusing its practice in complex areas of asset protection, estate planning and probate administration, IRS tax resolution, elder law, finance and lending, bankruptcy, corporate and real estate law. The Firm has ten lawyers with many years of combined experience.

The website was built using Jenny CMS, which is a Content Management System developed by Jennifer Web Design.  This allows for the client to easily update all pages of the website.  In addition to that functionality, we have also built for Gerrard Cox Larsen two customized WordPress blogs, each focusing and directed at specific types of clients.

Bodyheat Tanning opened it’s doors in 1997.  The primary reason for opening was that they couldn’t find a tanning salon with consistency in performance. Other salon’s beds were small and they didn’t feel like the value was there to make Customers return.

They now offer a wide range of tanning services to Las Vegas Customers in their 13 locations.

The website includes the custom Jenny CMS (Content Management System) which enables the client to easily make changes to the website without having to wait.  It also has some pretty cool Flash animation elements.

Let’s start with why business owners do not blog yet, this could be you-

1. First thing we often hear is that they think it will take a ton of time. This is a misconception. Blogging for a few minutes each week is enough to get started and can take you all of under 15 minutes to do. So, time is really not a reason to not blog.
2. Some people think it is going to cost them a lot, again, we only take 5 hours or more, depending on how advanced you want to get, so the cost is minimal to you and the businesses we have done blogs for find it very affordable. It pays them back within a few weeks.
3. Next reason we most often hear is that it may be hard to learn how to blog. First off, we include the training in our cost. 4. Why should I blog, I don’t see the reasons for this? We get this question a lot and we should get this question a lot because blogging is still new all things considered. This is actually not true.

Articles are NOT duplicate content and if someone suggests they are, ask them why Yahoo and Google would have a Creative Commons area where they suggest you publish other peoples work. Search Engines understand that articles (similar to news) is meant to be syndicated.

Taking the time to write articles and to comment on other people’s articles, can actually give your traffic a huge boost. The more you write, the higher you will rank and remember to use your all important keyword text within your links.

CNN, Fox, Katie Couric, Anderson Coper, Kevin Smith, Shaq, and Starbucks all use it to communicate with people.  More and more businesses are using it to communicate and “touch” their customers, and adopting it as a valuable marketing tool.  It still is a relatively recent tool, but is catching steam, and it is catching a lot of steam.  It is a great way to build brand loyalty, and communicate in a concise format with your customers.

The most amazing thing about Twitter is that it has a very viable chance to be the “Google Killer”.  TheTtwitter user generated content that can be searched can provide more instantaneous results on contemporary topics that Google.  It will be an interesting race to watch.
